📢 HDMI Forum Releases Final HDMI 2.2 Specification – Introducing the New ULTRA96 Cable Standard

The HDMI Forum has officially released the final specification for HDMI 2.2, marking a major leap forward in high-performance audio-video transmission. First introduced in January, the HDMI 2.2 standard is now finalized — and with it comes a new requirement:

All HDMI 2.2 cables must be labeled with “ULTRA96.”

🔍 What is ULTRA96?

The ULTRA96 marking indicates that a cable supports up to 96Gbps of bandwidth — double the capacity of HDMI 2.1, which maxes out at 48Gbps.

To ensure authenticity and compliance, HDMI Forum mandates that every certified cable — regardless of length — must be tested and clearly labeled. This ensures buyers can easily identify the right cable for their high-end display and multimedia needs.
